Compared with the CRF250L, the 250M sits 20mm lower and features revised front and rear suspension with heavier springs, 17-inch wheels at both ends fitted with wider, street-spec tyres, and a more powerful braking set-up at the front.
As with the CRF250L, the CRF250M is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine that produces 23bhp and 22Nm of torque. This fuel-injected engine delivers up to 34km/l in terms of fuel efficiency and with the bike’s 7.7-litre fuel tank, provides a range of up to 250km. The CRF250M’s 6-speed gearbox features slightly taller ratios compared to the 250L for more relaxed cruising.
Other bits on the 2014 Honda CRF250M include an oval-section steel frame, aluminium swingarm, 43mm Showa USD fork at the front, Pro-Link suspension (Showa monoshock) at the back, 296mm front brake disc with twin-piston calipers, 17-inch wheels wearing 110/70 (front) and 130/70 (rear) tyres and a digital instrument cluster.
