Submitted October 18, 1989 and shipped immediately after the AF1 Sports is the swan song of the series AF1 Synthesis and can 'be treated for all purposes as the progenitor of the Aprilia Sport Production, which will see light in the next, or the SP's AF1 Futura 1992 and subsequent RS Extrema SP designed strictly for use on the track.
Price in 1989: Lire 5,890,000 turnkey.
The bike soon
Created to celebrate the success of Bulega Sport Production championship in 1989, except for successful coloring, Sports AF1 AF1 is practically identical to the 1989 Summary. The only notable difference 'represented by a colored plastic shell (removable by turning a screw) that covers the passenger seat. Interestingly, the AF1 Sport and 'the only Aprilia Sport Production racing thought to have mount a 34mm carburetor fact, from 1992 versions marketed to race in the SP will necessarily fit a 28mm.
Cycling
The chassis remains largely unchanged compared to the synthesis 89, although the adoption of a geometry with a different steering angle of the steering tube of 25.5 degrees and a trail of 92mm (95mm 26 degrees and the Synthesis 89). Suspension, brakes and wheel sizes remain unchanged. The dry weight and detected by Motorsports' of 130kg. (Unchanged from the Summary 89)
Engine
The engine and 'always mounted on the Rotax 123 Summary of 1989 RAVE valve with electronic control, although it was subject to some minor changes:
· Group revised thermal
• Adoption carburetor Dell'Orto VHSB oval section 34LD (PHBH 28RD synthesis 89) and aluminum silencer
Annual Report final shortened 16/38 (16/37 on Summary 89)
With the changes, the engine of AF1 Sport is more powerful and willing to stretch and the data confirm the trend observed in terms of maximum power: the AF1 Sports points out a maximum power to the wheel well of 31.23 hp at 10500giri against 29.7 in 10500giri recorded on Summary 89. However, in the tests resumed on 400 meters from 50km / h, the Sports recorded a time of 19.985 seconds at a speed 'output of 95.740 km / h against the 18.645 seconds and 106.51 km / h 89 Summary: worsening attributable tractability to the lower 'motor due to dispensing more' sharp power and therefore more 'suitable for use purely on the track so the bike' was still planned.
Accomplices the improved qualities of extension of the engine and a shortened final report, the speed 'Maximum recorded is the most' high Class: 168.300 km / h against the 166.2 kilometers per hour Summary of 89.4
